I studied film and theater at the University of New Orleans and graduated with a BA in 2015. Before deciding to make this my major, I had minimal training and severe anxiety. I was never a “theater kid.” Thanks to my speech teacher in high school, I was taught how to create and embrace characters while pulling from my own unique experiences of being a half-Hispanic, queer gal. It saved my life. Comedy helped my anxiety and ignited my love for both grounded and absurd storytelling.
